We can&apos;t wait for you to open your Sleepout Portable for the first time!&#xA0;Each Sleepout Portable comes with one 100% blackout Sleepout Curtain panel, two Sleepout locking suction cups, and a reusable carrying bag.&#xA0;Since everything is packed tight for transit, you will notice creases in your Sleepout Curtain when you first open it up &#x2014; that&apos;s to be expected. We recommend washing, steaming, or letting your Sleepout Portable hang for a few hours to get the creases from transit out. This guide will help make sure you&apos;re using the Sleepout suction cups correctly.The suction cups work best on clean and dry glass surfaces (not that they do need to be installed on glass; wood will not work). The suction cups are best installed at room temperature&#x2014;they handle temperature fluctuations well, but form a better seal if installed when they are not cold.&#xA0;Make sure to install them sloping section at the top to help block light bleeds, and to form the strongest seal, push them in towards the glass, then press the lever down.Suction Cups are 1.5 inches in heigth and 2 inches by 2 inches length x width. They are quite small and can be installed behind blinds without issue.

You can install Sleepout Portable horizontally—or combine multiple Sleepout Curtains—on larger windows!. Starting on the outside of your window, install Sleepout Portable like normal. When you get to the middle suction cup, cover half of the suction

You can install Sleepout Portable horizontally&#x2014;or combine multiple Sleepout Curtains&#x2014;on larger windows!&#xA0;Starting on the outside of your window, install Sleepout Portable like normal. When you get to the middle suction cup, cover half of the suction cup with the velcro on the curtain and fold back the end of the curtain so that the flocking (white back of the curtain) is showing. The second Sleepout Portable will share this middle suction cup.Then, go to the other side of your window and install the second Sleepout Portable like normal. When you get to the middle suction cup, attach the curtain so that it is overlapping the folded back part of the first curtain. This will help block any middle light gap in the middle.&#xA0;Want to see this in action? Check out our Instagram highlights for more tips!If your window is very wide, you may need some extra suction cups towards the middle of your Sleepout Curtain to help support the extra weight. We would recommend purchasing another pair of suction cups to install in the middle of the curtain for this!&#xA0;These extra suction cups can also come in handy when you travel and need to install the Sleepout Curtain on windows with unusual shapes or a windowpane in the middle.

Installation Tips: Large Windows, Wide Windows, and Multiple Panels

Sleepout Velcro plates can be installed by using the adhesive back-side to permanently stick to any surface. This allows light to be blocked around the edges of the curtain or for the curtain to be installed over the window frame, to get total darkne

Sleepout Velcro plates can be installed by using the adhesive back-side to permanently stick to any surface. This allows light to be blocked around the edges of the curtain or for the curtain to be installed over the window frame, to get total darkness. Velcro Plates are not included with Portable curtains. To permanently install your Sleepout Portable, put the 2 velcro plates above your window, ideally with some extra space on either side, no wider than your curtain.&#xA0;<img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/1QNmd2YyJp29XA0W/hc/P4k1n6jkZL2reOX9/2026031312-d0d9f025-89e1-4d16-9aea-ef7396f9ce5b-2_2173e6ca-d076-48c3-8190-e108f5dfe72d.png" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">Then simply attach the velcro of the curtain to the velcro plates. Please note, these are not reusable and will damage the paint or surface for which they are adhered.
